A designer is someone who designs something before it actually becomes built, usually by sketching plans or drawings. They will often come up with ideas for new furniture and interior design, so that the people who are making the furniture can incorporate their thoughts into the finished product. This can be done in many ways, but the main idea is to have the designer create a detailed blueprint of the product, complete with measurements and pictures. This allows the makers of the item to put their best thoughts on it, and if the designer does not like what they have created, they can always rework it until they are completely happy with it.

The second principal designer is the one that actually implements the designs that are created by the first principal designer. The designer may be able to design the actual product, or he or she may only be responsible for the layout and organization of it. This is often the most difficult job, since designers must think about the best way to draw a certain type of pattern, or how to use various materials, such as leather, wood, or glass to best show off the design work that has been done. Many designers must also be extremely creative, as they must consider the aesthetic appeal of the designs that they are creating.

The third person that is important in the world of interior designers is the one who actually builds the final product. This can be either the manufacturer of the furniture or the salesman who sells it to the consumer. Designers who build their designs may have some input during the process, as well as a few ideas for how to improve the final product.
