Travel is the general movement of individuals between different distant geographical areas. Travel can be to close by car, bicycle, foot, plane, train, bus or any other means, and is one way or another traveling by foot. In today’s modern world, the world becomes smaller through extensive use of transportation mediums, like air, land and sea, with a few exceptions like polar regions and glaciers. Almost everywhere humans have established colonies and extended their influence over the earth, so travel is inevitable. Although travel has come to terms with boundaries that are artificial, it still occurs with people moving across continents, or even changing the shape of the planet through exploration and hybrid technology.
There are many reasons why people love to travel. The most common reason why people travel is adventure. It is thrilling to go out into unknown territory and experience things you had never seen before; or, travel to see new places you had only heard about. Going on an exotic vacation, or taking a road trip on your car with the family, allows you to spend more time with them as a family and see new places that you would otherwise not have been able to visit without travel. Another reason why people love to travel is for a new experience. When people go on vacation they want to experience something different, and travel offers just that opportunity.
World travel also provides an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of one’s culture and traditions. By gaining insight into the people around us, we can learn more about ourselves, our history and how we fit into the world. Travel helps us to reflect on our lives, learn more about others and appreciate all that we have built on the past. Whether it is seeing the sights of the old country you came from, visiting the birthplace of your ancestors or simply going on a cruise to take in the world-wide beauty, travel offers many opportunities for learning and growth. It is not a vacation; it is lifetime learning.
