The Food You Eat – Vegetable Soup

Food is any material consumed in order to give nutrition to an organisms. It can be vegetable, fruit, meat, fish or dairy products. Most importantly food is the only liquid that sustains the life of all animals and plants, and includes nutrients, like proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, or iron. In a human body, food supplies energy needed for the complete functioning of the body, and its absence results in death.

A lot of people don’t seem to know the difference between a vegetable and a fruit, or the difference between plant and animal food. In reality, each of these categories of food are made up of a number of smaller substances that together form the complete food we call vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. Plants are nothing more than bundles of stems, leaves and roots, whereas animals are simply animals that have a backbone and some sort of fur. So, you can say that all living things, animals and plants, belong to one major category of food called “vegetable food”. All other classification of food are sub-categorised based on how they are formed and what part of the body they come from.

So, for example, vegetable is the first of the major categories of food, followed by fruit, grain, legume, milk, eggs and fish. Animal is the next main category, followed by grain, dairy and eggs, while mineral is the last sub category, which includes everything from stone to salt to asphalt. Now that you know the difference between a vegetable, fruit and an animal, it should be easier to understand why you should eat as much of each of these food groups as possible. By eating several small meals of different food types every day you will slowly increase your intake of vegetables, which will help your body to burn its fat faster, helping you lose weight at a steady pace. By alternating between several different food groups you will also improve your health and energy level, resulting in a longer, healthier life.
