Non-Routine Travel – What Is It?

Info Sep 12, 2021

Travel is the general movement of individuals between relatively distant geographic locations. Travel can generally be done by car, bicycle, foot, plane, train, bus, boat or other means, and is usually one direction or round-trip travel. In addition, travel can also be two-way and includes car, truck, van, minivan, motorcycle, scooter or other form of personal transport. Although it used to be that travel was primarily for business, today’s travel habits have changed, with more people than ever visiting family members, spending time with friends, and enjoying museums, galleries, and zoos. More recently, the development of air travel has made it very convenient for many people, as well as increasing the range and variety of destinations that people can visit.

The term “travel” can apply to a number of different things, but when used in regards to travelling, it generally means making progress on one place at one time. It can also mean traveling from one place to another. In addition, travel can refer to the act of journeying through different places; and, when used in relation to a business travel environment, refers to the activities of meeting with business clients or colleagues. Some forms of travel may also involve moving from one location to another. In this way, travel can include a combination of walking, jogging, skating, riding a bike, hiking, bus or train, flying, and even swimming.

As was noted above, travel can be performed by foot, bike, car, plane, train or boat. However, there are also a great number of other ways in which people travel today. One example of non-routine travel is vacation travel. Non-routine in this case may refer to vacation travel, such as a cruise or honeymoon, or can include recreational travel such as sightseeing. In short, non-routine travel can also be considered to be any travel that is not in response to a specific need or function.
