A blog is an informative, opinion or personal website published online, usually in a private, usually hidden, context that tends to encapsulate the author’s experience and personality. Posts are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order, with the latest post appearing at the top, then further posts beneath it in ascending order of date. The purpose of a blog is usually personal or subjective in nature, but bloggers are free to express any thoughts or opinions they may have.

There are many ways to make money with blogs, but not all of them require you to spend much money. One way is through advertising. Google AdSense is an advertising program run by Google, whereby websites with quality content can display ads within a reader’s normal view of a blog page (thus displaying advertisements on blogs which are closely related to the topic of that blog). Bloggers who attract a high visitor volume to their sites are more likely to get clicked on those ads, and thus generate more revenues for their owners. Another way to make money with blogging is through writing guest articles for other blogs. A blog, being a public website, can accept guest articles from guest authors who have similar or the same topic as the blog itself, for a fixed fee. This is an excellent way for new bloggers to build their readership and credibility and to increase their popularity and link-ability with the online journal community. In fact, by regularly posting guest articles, bloggers can improve their credibility and link-ability with their target audience and therefore increase their blog’s traffic and overall profits.
