The word “fashion” can mean a lot of things. It can mean the clothes that one wears to the mall or to a ballgame. It can also mean how a person dresses, acts, and looks. Fashion is a broad category of personal autonomy and self-expression in a certain context and at a certain time and in a certain situation, of clothing, jewelry, footwear, fashion, makeup, haircut, and personal attitude. In its broader usage, however, the word essentially means that the thing that is currently popular, usually identified by its marketing strategy as what is fashionable.
In this case study questions, we will ask: In this fast-paced world, how can a person keep up with the current fashion trends? What can a student do to keep abreast of the latest styles? How can a woman who is not a professional shopper become familiar with and stay up to date on the fashions and styles of the fashion world? In this case study, we will focus on the first question.
In this case study, you will be asked to identify the current “in” fashion trend and how you can incorporate that trend into your wardrobe. After completing the survey, you will be given a recommended shopping list of items and an estimated cost for those items. Along with suggestions about what you should wear with which combination, your survey taker will also provide information about how you should shop for your clothing, where and how to buy it, and what types of articles of clothing you should use for these items. By answering these fashion style questionnaires, you will demonstrate your awareness of the dynamic process of fashion.
